Recipe - Piquillo Peppers Sauce

This is an easy recipe which you can pair with our Stuffed Piquillo Peppers, just bathe the stuffed peppers in the sauce to enhance it's flavour. This sauce can also be used with fish and seafood, it will give a special and extra touch to your dishes.

Servings: 3-4 people

Cooking time: 25 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 preserved piquillo peppers
  • ½ onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • ½ glass of white wine
  • 1 or 2 tablespoons cream or milk cream
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Chop the onion and garlic finely.
  2. Chop the piquillo peppers into cubes or strips, whichever you prefer.
  3. Heat a pot or frying pan with olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic for about 10 minutes until slightly transparent but be careful not to burn them.
  4. Add the glass of white wine and stir well until the alcohol evaporates.
  5. Add the piquillo peppers and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Now add the cream and mix well, always over medium heat for a couple of minutes more. Add salt to taste.
  7. Now you are going to put all the mixture in an electric blender and blend until you get a sauce of fine and uniform consistency.
  8. If you want it thicker, add more cream, if you prefer it more liquid, add some water, but always in small quantities.
